Chapter 225: unexpected invite
Abrielle had no idea of Callista’s and Lucian’s unexpected visit. She was busy getting ready for dinner. It was actually the first meal ever they would be having together after her marriage. This would have meant a lot to the original Abrielle, it also meant a lot to her
It was all part of the plan. She took a last look at herself in the Mirror. She wasn’t looking bad at all. "This is fine, how are the preparations for dinner?" Her eyes drew from the mirror to Evelyn who was holding a handful of fabrics.
"It’s going fine, everything will be done soon. The head maid instructed the kitchen to prepare dishes indigenous to Vesper." Evelyn said which was helpful everything was going fine
"Make sure there is a rabbit on the menu, my mother loves roasted rabbits," Abrielle informed Evelyn. She released a breath that was stuck in her throat due to the corset.
"I guess I have to check up on Cedric," her mood plummeted at the thought of seeing him. "His highness is in his study," Evelyn informed her. Abrielle nodded making her way from her room to the first floor where Cedric’s study was located.
The halls were quiet with the rhythmic sounds of her heels clicking against the floor being the only thing that could be heard. On arriving at Cedric’s study, there wasn’t a Guard stationed at the entrance.
Abrielle didn’t find it odd, but something piqued her interest. The door was left slightly ajar. The closer she got to the door, the more she came to the realization Cedric had guests. It was an incoherent mix of a feminine and masculine voice.
Her eyes dulled recognizing the voice immediately, Lucian and Callista. "I am done here," she grumbled, turning around to head back to her room. She didn’t want to have any confrontation with Callista.
She was too exhausted to face the female lead. Walking down the hallway, just before she was about to take a turn, she walk into Rebecca, who was being led by a maid. "Elle is something wrong?" Rebecca asked, concern laced in her voice, sensing there was something off with Abrielle’s mood.
