Chapter 221: The prettiest things
The wind blew through her hair lightly as it danced around her. The sky was beautiful with an exotic mix of colour, and in the middle of this beautiful canvas painted by nature, she sat there on the sand watching the sunset.
Evelyn sensed Cedric’s presence and acknowledged him with a bow. She was about to verbally greet him, but he stopped, placing a finger on his lips to shush.
She nodded then turned back to watch her mistress. It was healing how Abrielle made it part of her day to watch the sunset after she found her way to the beach that day.
Cedric made his way towards her, stopping a few feet away; as expected, she didn’t sense his presence because his movements were very quiet and nibbled.
A short breath left her Lips, it was getting colder and she didn’t have a jacket. She should leave but she wanted to stay until it was dark. Growing up, Hazel never got the opportunity to visit the seaside; she could only imagine it in books and watch it on TV. She never knew one of her wishes of being able to visit the seaside would be answered due to transmigration.
Her body went stiff when she felt a coat being wrapped around her and that distinct sandalwood scent wrapped around her. She grabbed the jacket turning to her side where she felt his presence. "Thank you," she muttered wondering how long he was watching her.
Cedric didn’t answer her and just sat beside her on the sand. It felt awkward to even imagine him doing something as simple as that. Her gaze trailed back to the sky. "I had no idea you enjoyed watching scenery like this." He commented.
"I just love admiring the beauty," Abrielle commented.
"That means you love staring at the mirror. I wonder between them which is prettier." Cedric chimed, a smile tugging her lips, listening to the indirect compliment.
