The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband

Chapter 116: Astrid did it

The maid was dead; the shock Abrielle felt from the news terrified her completely, with her face going pale. The queen studied Abrielle’s reaction. She trusted her judgement, and she had someone she suspected, but she wanted to hear what the princess thought.

"That is unexpected, how were they able to infiltrate the castle?" She gasped, as beads of sweat formed on her forehead.

"It’s a suspicion she was assassinated. Some claimed she might have committed suicide, but the bottom line is that she is dead, and there is no strong lead to who gave her poison." The queen explained Abrielle’s hold clenched around the cup. She was scared of saying the person she suspected before there would be one more person who wanted her dead.

"That is really unfortunate, your highness." The princess mentioned, and then they both went silent, their minds filled with several thoughts.

"The person that sent her was at the tea party. Isn’t that the case?" Eleanor stated drawing Abrielle’s attention from her tea cup to stare at the Queen’s grey eyes. She brought the cup close to her lips, the rich aroma of the tea waffled into her nostrils as she took a sip.

The hot liquid made her throat feel parched as she swallowed. It would be hard lying to the queen. Why did the system want her to be entangled with such a dangerous person?

"If my suspicion is true, the person was also at the tea party, but it is just a hunch." She emphasized the fact, that she didn’t want to be entangled in any conflicts

"Just as I Suspected. Karissa that witch. She was the one that did it with the way she was defending the maid." The queen stated her assumptions. Karissa was indeed the person in the original plot that planned everything but Abrielle discovered something yesterday that wasn’t too shocking.

"I was also suspicious of Karissa but I don’t think she is the one. At times the obvious answer is wrong." This left the queen puzzled. She tried to think of another person, but that was all she could think about.

"How is that possible? She openly wanted to defend the maid." That was a fact that made Karissa a suspect. She was supporting the maid; maybe she did it out of spite for Cedric, but this time around, she was innocent.

"Karissa was not the only one who supported the maid. Even Callista’s actions are suspicious, but she is innocent. I rather not say who I think it is because you will not believe me in the first place." Abrielle pointed out the way Callista behaved.

Abrielle felt Callista was just disoriented or scared by the sudden attention placed on her, but one thing was certain: she didn’t like the female lead for so many reasons.
