The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband

Chapter 114: Forbidden emotions

His arms were wrapped around her securely as he pulled her closer to his chest more like to his heart. Abrielle could hear his heartbeat, which was slow and periodic.

This wasn’t the way she imagined to be woken up, by his side and him looking at his seductive body under the warm light of the fire. Her cheeks subconsciously turned red. She tried to move squirming in his hold, which successfully woke Cedric up.

"Can you stop moving?" He muttered, trying to sleep, but his sudden hoarse voice made her jolt, wanting to flee from his arms, but he just pulled her back, pressing her against his chest with his chin lying on her head. "What are you doing in my bed?" She asked the strong scent of sandalwood was infiltrating her senses

She was slowly getting addicted to his scent without a doubt. "Do I need a reason to be in my wife’s bed?" He asked her which left Abrielle speechless. Her lips pursed into a thin line as she remembered the image of him and Callista in the garden, giving her this sense of bitter jealousy she dared not have in her.

"You make it seem like you actually have a sense of affection for me." She mentioned that Cedric stiffened at her words and created a bit of distance between them, making it possible to see her face. Her blue eyes met with those distinct gold eyes of his. He had a neutral expression, and he didn’t study her features.

"What do you think?" He asked, "Huh," she didn’t understand the question, so he repeated his words. "I mean what do you think about your position in my heart?" He asked, and her eyes dulled, losing the light in it. "I would rather not talk about it," Abrielle answered, then shifted her position in his arms, trying to ignore his strong presence.

Her gaze was now on the flame with her back against Cedric. She felt him move closer, his arm circling her waist. "Why don’t you want to talk about it?" His voice was very close to her ears as he whispered making it go slightly red while she felt one of his hands slowly crawl up her thigh under her nightgown. There were faint sparks at his touch that were igniting an ember in her.

What did he think he was doing? She wanted to snap at him but knew it was better. She shut her mouth not to get on his nerves, but this was uncomfortable. "It is an unpleasant topic. There is no need for us to pretend or anything. I know you don’t like me and it’s fine because I don’t hold you in my heart in that way either." Her voice was steady and firm. She felt her heart squeeze after saying those words like she just betrayed herself.

Cedric’s hands that were crawling on her thigh froze. He didn’t like her reply; it didn’t sit well with him in the least bit. Before Abrielle could register what was happening, Cedric had already grabbed her hand pinning above her head as he climbed over her. "What are you doing?" She asked as panic ran through her eyes, and she looked at his heated gaze.

"I should be the one asking you that, but first of all, tell me why you are certain I don’t have any affection for you." His question was ridiculous to Abrielle, who remembered what happened this past month when they were married.
