The Villianess story: A 100 ways to kill your husband

Chapter 95: He couldn’t hate her

The balcony was quiet and chilly; Abrielle froze when Alfonso hugged her. What was he doing? The last thing she needed was an unnecessary misunderstanding. Her life was about to get shittier than it already was.

Her hand was pressed against his chest, and she tried to shove him off, but he felt like an impenetrable wall. Why was she physically weaker than all princes? This was annoying.

" Alfonso, let go of me; I don’t need a hug from you." She snapped at him, but he didn’t listen, she didn’t want to imagine what would happen if someone were to show up. Why was he not acting according to the plot? Or did the plot only heavily influence the main characters?

But he wasn’t a side character either as he did have relevance to the story. Sensing her hesitance he reluctantly let go. Abrielle immediately stepped back from him to give themselves some space.

"Please never hug me without short notice or don’t just do that. I am a married woman, what if Cedric suddenly shows up?" She snapped at him, her hands holding her dress as her eyes darted around the corner. If Cedric saw her hugging his brother, she was finished. He would label her a traitor to be hugging the people who want her dead.

"Why should he care? Is it not like he loves you or anything. To him, you are just a political tool and don’t care if you are hurt." Alfonso scoffed, and Abrielle’s hold on her dress layers tightened. She knew that she was just a political tool. That was how she envisioned the plot.

"Because my husband doesn’t love me is not an excuse to be in the arms of another. I still have some part of my dignity." Abrielle stated with a firm voice. She walked past Alfonso with her heels rapidly clicking on the marble floor.

"Where are you going? Back to the arms of the man who doesn’t care." He scoffed, his words and actions were confusing. It seemed like he was interested in her, but why would the Playboy prince have any interest in her?

"As you said, staying here would only make me look worse. I am going to make things right." Abrielle replied, then walked away, ignoring the fact Alfonso was trailing her behind.

On getting to the hallroom, the music was high and it seemed that the dance had already started. Her hands clutched her dress tightly as her eyes reluctantly glanced to the centre of the dance floor to spot Cedric and Callista dancing, just like in the plot. The sight of them together gave her a bitter-sweet feeling she didn’t understand.

"So what are you going to do?" Alfonso asked from behind her, it was like he was a little devil that would not let her be. Little whispers were going around about how the prince was sharing his first dance with a woman who wasn’t his wife.

From their stares, Abrielle understood what they meant, but she wasn’t pathetic to wallow in pity.
