Chapter 49: Act like the foolish wife
Abrielle might act impulsive and weak but she was doing the best she could. This world was turning into a mystery to her and she wondered if this was her book, it seemed familiar but was still different in a way.
The more she stayed with him, the more she realized how much of a challenge it might be to achieve her goal. Honestly, she did consider just being a good wife and hoping Cedric doesn’t kill her but that would not work.
It was uncertain how much the plot has control over the book and even if she didn’t act like a villainess in the book as a means to escape her death there was no assurance her dear husband would not kill her. He was a psychopath. The story of a psychopath and a foolish noble lady that was obsessed with him.
"You said previously the decision lies with me. The thing is I have never attended a hunt before, especially not the winter hunt because my parents thought of me as fragile. Everyone secretly saw me as the weak daughter of the nightshade duchy ." She didn’t even know where the words were coming from but it seemed right for the moment.
Cedric patiently listened to her, he knew it was probably one of her schemes. "Even if I am going I won’t be joining the main event so the cold won’t bother me since I will be at camp socializing. Staying in the castle is boring." Abrielle explained.
Cedric sighed. "I will think about it," he knew attending the hunt wouldn’t be such a bad idea as a lot of nobles would be attending; it was also the best place to build connections. The problem was that he was still investigating the Khaos from his guess it was most likely the queen this time.
It was tiring when there were a lot of people that saw you as a threat but he had eventually grown numb to the feeling and only finds it exciting now.
Cedric’s answer wasn’t definite but she had to hold on to that even if the hunt failed she just had to think of other ways then while still thinking of a way to escape.
Escaping honestly seemed harder than killing him, Cedric could easily find her; her only bet was to flee the kingdom and seek asylum in another but which nation would protect the wife is the bloodlusted demon.
