Each Their Own Way Home
In the car on the way back from the sea, there was hardly any conversation.
The sound of the radio continued to flow as if to fill the silence, but it didn’t reach my ears.
While concentrating on driving, I found myself wishing that we would never arrive at my apartment in Tokyo.
That way, the time spent with him next to me wouldn’t have to end.
If so, the fun holiday would continue indefinitely——
I’m aware of the contradiction within myself.
Under the pretense of being an adult, I was sealing away my true feelings.
Glancing at him next to me, he was staring intently outside the window.
His reflection in the window glass still retained a hint of innocence.
He is a high schooler, although it’s easy to forget because of his usual mature behavior and actions.
