Chapter 28: Plains of Blood
"Demon king, this is the place that we’re inspecting today."
Though I was addressed as "demon king", it was clear by the tone that they took that they didn’t have any respect for me.
I wasn’t surprised by them acting this way since I already knew that they didn’t have any respect for me.
It wasn’t just the leaders that didn’t have any respect for me, all of the other demons had no respect for me either.
Though to be fair, it wasn’t as if I had ever done anything that was worth their respect.
Simply put, I had never demonstrated my strength other than showing the demon king energy that I had as part of my class to the leaders of the different demon tribes.
For a race like the demons where strength was everything, it wasn’t strange that they didn’t respect someone like me who had never shown any kind of strength. As far as they were concerned, I was nothing more than a puppet that had been put on the throne.
It would be strange if they respected someone like that.
Still, I didn’t care at all about the way that I was treated.
After all, the more that they looked down on me, the more that they ignored me.
The more that they ignored me, the more things that I could do under their noses.
