Chapter 21: Captured (2)
"I’m fine...Well, not exactly fine, but at least I’m back to life. I have some things to deal with first, so I’ll talk to you all later. Help me look through the status and see what has changed." I said to the others before turning my attention back to the two cloaked figures.
Seeing that I wasn’t responding to the order, it seemed that the one who gave it became more agitated.
"What are you doing? Listen to my orders now!"
Once again, I just ignored him as I looked right at the two cloaked figures.
Seeing the way that I looked at them, the two of them couldn’t help taking a step back.
The other cloaked figure asked, "Isn’t there something wrong with this lich? What did you do when you were creating it?"
The first cloaked figure didn’t respond as he continued looking right at me.
Finally, he said, "It’s a failure. It’s a good thing that I put a self destruct spell on its phylactery just in case."
As soon as his voice fell, he raised his hand and pointed it at me. Only there seemed to be a trace of hesitation in his actions when he did this, as if he couldn’t bear to do it.
That moment of hesitation was what I seized to attack.
If they were going to destroy me, it wasn’t as if I would just let them do that.
