Chapter 46: It’s Not Over!
Hiro, who had been observing the happenings of the settlement using [Inspect Sense], replied instantly. "I think that is indeed the case."
"You think...? Anyways, when are you coming back?"
"I can't just abandon Hema over here, can I? We're rushing back right now, but I'm sure you guys can handle yourselves. Be careful, Tara."
Tara wanted to ask Hiro if he had already done it with Hema. But she hesitated, afraid that she wouldn't like the answer she heard.
Vasquen interrupted her thoughts with his words. He was obviously oblivious to Tara's telepathic conversation. "We should bind them, just in case."
"Agreed," Targon said in his stoic voice.
The others also nodded one after the other. Soon, the three unconscious women were secured with rope.
But the tension in the air did not ease. The mist was still as thick as ever. Everyone knew that the hypnosis was only the first phase.
After a few seconds of tense silence, Barbara couldn't hold her irritation back anymore. "Why are the monsters still not here!? Are they even coming?"
"You seem a little confused. It's better if they don—"
Vasquen did not really have the chance to finish his retort.
