Chapter 322: Unexpected Love Bloomed (Ezra X Leela)
The snow fell in heavy curtains outside the castle, blanketing the world in a serene white tapestry. It was late in the evening and the Castle was filled with a calm silence as everyone had retired to their rooms after an early dinner.
In one of the many guest chambers on the second floor, the warmth and glow of lanterns illuminated Leela’s bed-chamber.
Ezra’s knuckles rapped lightly on the door, resonating through the thick silence. He had initially planned to sleep early but as soon as his body hit the bed and he closed his eyes, his mind couldn’t help but think about a certain person. Not wanting to torture himself, he just decided to meet that very person.
As if in response to his presence, the door swung open, guided by Leela’s water magic. He stepped in, feeling the magic embrace him like a welcoming hug.
While fire and water are contradictory in nature, his fire loved her water. Everytime he felt her water element, his fire responded in a way it had never before, it wanted to come out and play.
The room was a sanctuary of light and scents, illuminated by the dance of flames in lanterns and candles. The woman had spent an entire day shopping through the market streets of the Capital City of Seelie Empire just to find her favorite aroma candles.
Ezra made his way toward the bed, where Leela was engrossed in a book he’d seen her with frequently the past couple of days. Without looking up, she remained focused, her fingers gracefully turning each page.
Taking a seat at the bed’s edge, Ezra’s voice was light with playful curiosity, "Is the book proving to be more captivating than my company, my dear Leela?"
Her gaze lifted from the pages, and in the firelight, her eyes sparkled like sapphires. There was a captivating smile on her lips and her voice sounded like a musical whisper as she replied, "the book still guards its mysteries, while I’ve already unraveled every secret of your heart."
Her expression teased him way more than her words and Ezra could feel himself falling for the trap she just set especially for him.
His brow furrowed, curiosity etched across his features. His gaze fell to the book in her hands, and realization washed over him. It was the same history book on the Seelie Realm, the one Lady Annalise had been engrossed in earlier.
With a soft sigh, he gently took the book from her grasp, placing it aside. His large hands then found hers, his fingers entwining with hers, seeking comfort in the connection.
