Chapter 262: Eirwen
"Is this the place?" Annalise asked as she turned to look at Valerius with confusion-filled eyes because if it was indeed the right place then she failed completely to see hey it was his favorite place unless it had anything to do with something with his past, like some sort of memory he made there.
Valerius gave her a small smile as he shook his head in the negative. "It’s not but here is something that I think you will like to see." With that being said, he clicked his fingers, and a veil of illusion dropped from the wall, causing an entrance of some sort to appear right in front of them.
Annalise wasn’t given the time to progress exactly what was going on as she got pulled forward along with her husband who was heading straight toward the entrance. Now, she had stepped through many entrances with next to no clue about what the other side held in store for her, and sometimes, she was all alone to face whatever was awaiting her.
However, this time, she had one of her most beloved people by her side and she believed that as long as she was with him, everything would end up being fine in the end. She tightened her hold on his hand right before they stepped through the entrance.
It took a couple of seconds for her enhanced eyesight to adjust to the darkness inside the cave-like thing they were walking through and there was barely anything for her to see or make sense of. The two of them walked ahead for around a couple of minutes before she finally noticed an opening filled with brightness.
She would have loved to believe that considering the short distance they had traveled, they must still be somewhere near the palace but considering the amount of magic present in the Midnight Realm, she wasn’t too confident about her calculations.
They soon reached the end of the tunnel and as they stepped outside, Annalise found herself standing in a clearing that was covered in snow as far as her eyes could see.
"What is this place...?" She watched with her eyes popping wide as the huge creature made some sort of movement on the other side of the clearing, sitting on top of the little cliff.
"Holy stars...!" She felt like she was in the middle of some sort of dream as her eyes refused to move away from the creature. She felt like the moment she would look away, that thing would disappear.
