How could Annalise not feel tempted by such a clear invitation that painted a really insane but alluring image in her mind?
Therefore, she did exactly what the two dark lords wanted her to do even when she felt extremely anxious while doing it. She took a couple of deep breaths to calm herself down and it sort of worked but only when she felt Valerius’ hand resting on her nape right before his air and ice surrounded her for a second or two.
"Ready?" Kenric asked as he shifted somewhere far behind her as if creating some sort of challenge for her by putting distance between them.
"I think...?" She wasn’t really sure about her idea of actually testing the borrowing magic but it seemed like she barely had any other choice.
She closed her eyes and focused her full attention on the different energies that were present in the air instead of focusing on either of her men. They might not have realized it but one thing that she had already understand about her growing powers was that it began from the energies present in the nature and ended on them.
A part of her, undoubtedly her magical core, was already aware of what would happen if she would try borrowing the dark lords’ powers and it both excited her and terrified her.
Annalise took in another deep breath before she started separating the different elemental energies present in the air. She found ice, air, earth, fire, shadow... and two more energies that were quite foreign to her but yet so familiar.
She remained calm despite the presence of the foreign energies and focused on the familiar ones. She first called the fire and despite her eyes being closed, she knew that there was a flame blazing on the pool’s surface.
She next tugged on the ice energy and created an ice globe around the fire but not before filling it with air to keep the fire alive. Then she created a pedestal of small colorful rocks under the globe with the help of earth magic before using Shadow in the very end to morph time and space which took away her elemental creation out of the pool room and placed it right in the center of the castle’s front garden.
