Chapter 195: Blocked Memory
Annalise slowly shook her head before she answered, "I know, Kenric. Physically, there’s no wound, nor I’m feeling any pain now, but the injury and the pain in that dream-like thing was too real to be ignored as just a nightmare. I know what I saw and felt was not just a mere dream."
She looked at the three men and waited patiently but also eagerly to know what were their opinions on the weird matter. She really hoped for her husbands to say that they believed in her words because their opinions did matter to her and she wanted to hear that they trust her even though it was hard to really do that considering there was no proof of what she was talking about.
The dark lords shared a quick look among the three of them before they returned their attention to her and Valerius broke the silence, "Okay, if you are that much sure about it then we also believe in your words. But can you tell us more about what you saw, or let us take a glimpse at that particular memory of yours so that we can get a better idea about what exactly happened? Because such a matter needed to be taken care of before it develops into something bigger and much more dangerous. We can’t take risks with your safety."
Not only Valerius but the other two dark lords also appeared totally determined about their protectiveness of her, and the realization filled Annalise’s heart with warmth and love for her husbands.
She nodded her head before speaking, "Fine, I’ll let you see my memory." The current time and situation, both were different when compared to the incident where Damien tricked her to pry through her memories. Now, she not only loved her husbands but also trusted them fully when it came to her. Most importantly, they had seemed for her consent like they should have.
It was Damien who took hold of both her hands in his bigger ones as he was the one with the strongest connection with her compared to his brothers because of their completed soulmate bond.
She looked directly into Damien’s dark raven eyes and almost missed the crimson in them that she last saw the previous night. If not for the fact that she was currently too focused on the issue at hand, she would have definitely spent some of the early morning hours reminiscing about the ’love-making’ segment from last night.
As if reading her thoughts, a beautiful but small smile bloomed on Damien’s lips as he stared back into her eyes. Surprising her, he inched his face closer to hers and placed a soft lingering kiss on her forehead before pulling away and closing his eyes as he started seeking an entrance into her memories through their shared soulmate bond.
Annalise also closed her eyes but not before letting out a small sigh as she was a little bit uneasy about rewatching the painful experience through her memory. She felt Valerius’ hands moving to rest on her shoulders as he tried to comfort her. Kenric also placed one of his hands on her thigh and Damien gave her fingers a light squeeze.
Her husbands/soulmates were trying to remind her that she wasn’t alone and all three of them were right there with her to support her no matter what happens.
She kept her eyes closed but nodded her head in understanding for Valerius and Kenric. As for Damien, she squeezed his hands in return before she allowed their shared bond to open up and allow him entrance into her memories.
