Chapter 169: Because it’s you
Annalise did exactly as she was told, she allowed her powers to come to the surface and follow the direction of Valerius’ command.
"Stars!"
Valerius suddenly pulled away, leaving her hanging there in the middle and totally confused about what just happened that made him pull away so suddenly. Her question was soon answered as the dark lord made her turn around to face him before he spoke.
"Annalise, do you know how dangerous it is to let someone else have control over your powers? Your powers... they aren’t something normal. You can’t repeat such a mistake..."
"I know." Annalise silenced him as she suddenly spoke up in her defense. "I know, Valerius. I’m very much aware of how unusual my powers are, that I’m not someone normal with Seelie bloodline like the rest of the people of my empire, and I’m also aware that I should never ever let anyone have control over my powers because it can turn out to be my biggest mistake."
"Then why did you do that just now?" Valerius asked as his mesmerizing ice-blue eyes looked at her in confusion.
"Because it’s you," Annalise answered truthfully which clearly took Valerius by surprise which was evident from the shocked look on his ethereal face. "Because it’s you, Valerius, and I trust you with everything I have. You are my husband, my soulmate, and... and one of the three men I have fallen in love with. I trust all three of you... just as much as I trust myself."
The look on Valerius’ face changed drastically as it went from shock to pure admiration and love. It didn’t even take him more than a second before he pulled her into his arms in a very tight and possessive hug. "You are going to be the death of me, dear wife." He whispered to her before placing a kiss on her temple.
He pulled away slightly from the hug to cup her face between his palms and looked into her eyes before he spoke, "Let me tell you, Lady Annalise, you are the one I love the most in this world. You are my wife, my soulmate, that one person who makes my heart beat like crazy and makes me question my sanity. The woman who makes me want to spend long nights with her entangled in the bedsheets and also the one who makes me want to enjoy every summer morning, winter night, or rainy day in her company."
He inched closer, taking away most of the little space that was present between their faces as he continued, "You are that one person I want to see right before I close my eyes every night and in the morning when I open them. You are the one who makes me desire to eat mortal food with her and also that one person who fills my life with the warmth of love, care, and trust. You are the one who completes my family and the person I’m madly in love with..."
