The Veil of Darkness

Chapter 148: Another Missing Wish Jewel

Leela first stared at Ezra and his team who were standing in a corner of the main hall of Portal Hall, then her gaze moved toward the Crown Prince of the Mortal Realm who was also standing at a distance with his younger brother and royal guards. Finally, she found herself looking toward the two men who were inspecting the area of the main hall. She had recognized them the very moment they stepped inside the hall. The cold and powerful aura, their charismatic looks, and their noble bearing were enough to make them stand out in a crowd of thousands.

The moment they appeared, both Ezra and the Crown Prince stepped aside along with their men. There was just something about those two dark faes that made others give them the respect that they not only deserved but also owned.

"It’s indeed missing, Valerius." One of the two dark faes spoke as he stepped away from the Portal and turned to face his brother who looked so ethereal with long silver hair and ice blue eyes that shone brightly like ice crystals.

The man with long silver hair, called Valerius, turned to look at Ezra as he spoke, "The attackers took away half of the Wish Jewel from here along with the descendants of the guardian family."

"Damn it!" Ezra didn’t look too happy with the information neither did his companions. The confirmation of another missing half of the Wish Jewels only meant that something really wrong was going on behind their backs.

"What are we going to do now?" It was actually the Crown Prince who spoke this time, his question was more directed at Valerius instead of Ezra and his companions.

"There is news about another attack at the second Portal Hall here in the Mortal Realm and the one in the Seelie Empire linking the two places. Go and see if the Wish Jewel there is gone too." Valerius wasn’t asking for help as he looked at the two groups of men, he was ordering them to do exactly what he asked them to do.

"We will be back by sunset." The Crown Prince stated as he and Ezra both accepted the task without any argument.

Leela watched with a dumbfounded look as the two powerful men, one by magical powers and the other by his status, walked out of the hall with their men. "You... don’t seem to be compelling them..." She stated while her mind kept running wild while thinking about who exactly these two dark faes were and also the third one who was missing at the moment.

The two men turned their attention to her and the one with short dark hair spoke, "How about you follow the dragon shifters?"

Once again it seemed little like a request and more like an order even with that question mark added at the end. "Alright." She found herself agreeing even before realizing it.
