Chapter 146: Medicine for Healing
Damien placed a soft kiss on Annalise’s temple as he spoke in response to her defense. "It’s alright. You will eventually learn from these mistakes. Besides, I’m here to take care of you, so no need to worry anymore."
His words turned into immediate comfort and surrounded both Annalise’s body and her heart as she snuggled closer into his arms, realizing at the same time that her body was no longer hurting like before whenever she moved.
"Thank you, My Lord... for always being there for me whenever I need you." She whispered sincerely while placing a soft kiss on his jaw before burying her face in the crook of his neck.
Damien tightened his arm around her as he replied, "You are my wife, my soulmate, and one of the most important people in my life, I will always be there for you no matter what."
Annalise didn’t respond and just snuggled closer into her husband’s arms but as she tried to move way more than before this time, the pain returned and caused her to whimper but Damien immediately rubbed his palm over her back, and the pain resided.
"How are you keeping the pain in control?" Annalise asked as she pulled away her face to look up at the second dark lord.
"I’m just using my shadow... but it won’t be able to keep the pain under control for too long," Damien admitted as he started untying the knots that were keeping his black shirt in place.
Annalise watched him in confusion but tried not to overthink as she asked, "I... I have this pill-like thing that Leela gave me..." She didn’t get to finish her sentence before Damien took the pill from her and started inspecting it.
A couple of seconds later, he handed her the pill as he spoke with a slight nod, "This is indeed a good magical pill. You should keep it with you for future use because I’m sure you won’t stop getting into trouble anytime soon."
