Chapter 100: The Perfect Plan
The Dark Fae queen nodded her head as she looked at her sons with proud eyes. "You all have surpassed my expectations. Seeing you all being able to come up with such good plans to solve issues, I can feel relieved."
The men shared another glance, feeling happy about their mother’s praise as it was something that couldn’t be earned easily.
"Fine. Let’s go ahead with your plan. I’m sure the Mer Court will give you the Spirit Coral in exchange for the treasure that you have in your possession. Once you will install the Spirit Coral in the core of the barrier, it will not only stop more dark energy from leaking out but will also soak the dark energy nearby the barrier back into the Seelie Realm. This will gain you some time."
The Dark Fae Queen seemed pretty much impressed by the plan but there was still a problem - though the Spirit Coral would gain them some extra time, it won’t be able to keep the ward strong for a long time. Whoever was behind destroying the ancient ward of the Seelie Realm, would soon find out a way to destroy the Spirit Coral and once that would happen, the dark energy won’t hold back.
"This will gain us a maximum of a couple of months. I’m not sure if that’s enough time for us to prepare and help Annalise with her powers." There was doubt in Kenric’s voice as he looked at his brothers and then at his mother.
"He’s right. She needs a lot of training, not only for controlling her powers but also for her physical strength, a couple of months won’t be enough for that. Also, I’m not sure if I have got this right or not, but there seems to be some kind of seal over her powers that’s keeping them dominant. Mother, can you take a look at her to confirm whether my suspicion is right or not?" Damien looked at the Queen expectantly.
"A seal?" The Queen seemed lost in her thoughts for the next couple of minutes as silence fell over them. Only after several long minutes had passed, did she speak, "You all shouldn’t stay here for too long or it won’t be easy to keep the news about your return a secret. Besides, I can’t personally meet her right now. How about this - ask the Mer Queen to take a look at the seal when you will visit the Mer Court. I’m sure she will be able to help considering they have someone even older and more knowledgeable than me."
The Princes nodded their heads in understanding. They were pretty much aware that they couldn’t possibly stay in the Midnight Realm for too long. They needed to leave as soon as possible so that the news won’t spread across the realm and reach those who should never find out about their return.
