Chapter 88: The Ceremony (Part One)
The Shadow Hall was prepared for the ceremony by the servants while Annalise remained sleeping on the obsidian table, shadows lurking around her that were linked with Damien’s powers as he kept a connection between himself and the woman.
The High Priestess arrived soon, followed by the Queen who had surely heard about their return as soon as they entered the realm. While the former made her way to the obsidian table, the latter headed directly in the direction of the three Dark Lords.
"Mother..."
The three men spoke in unison as they greeted the Queen of the Midnight Realm, their mother.
"Are you sure about this?" The Queen asked as she kept her gaze trained on Damien, her obsidian eyes staring deep into his soul as she wanted to listen to the truth only and she probably found it as her eyes widen for a moment before her expression returned to normal.
"Looks like you have finally found the one for you." She spoke as she turned to look at Annalise, her sharp and experienced eyes judging the unconscious girl. "But she’s a weak one. She will be saved today here, but you will need to hone her powers." She turned her attention back to her sons as she continued, "Remember, your chosen mate will also become the future queen of this realm, she needs to be someone of at least the same level as yours if not more powerful. Her Seelie blood will already raise many questions but if she turned out to be a weak one, you will even end up losing your right to the throne too." The last words were directed at Valerius.
The three Princes nodded their heads in understanding as they knew just how serious their mother was and exactly how true her words were.
The queen let out a small breath and gave a small nod as she spoke, her attention back to Damien. "Go and get ready for the ceremony, it will begin shortly. Your wife doesn’t have much time left, we need to hurry."
Damien nodded his head before he teleported away to his bed-chamber, a place he had not been to in centuries but it still appeared as freshly furnished as it always used to be, everything was exactly like how he left it.
He didn’t have much time to look around as he grabbed the clothes that the servants had prepared for him and went to get ready for the ceremony.
