Chapter 67: External Magical Energy
Annalise watched with her jaw hanging open as small portions of all the spiritual herbs that she still hadn’t collected, flew up into the mid-air and then disappeared inside the pouches which too disappeared once all the herbs were collected.
Kenric clapped his hands in satisfaction as he ended the spell and proudly looked around the fields to make sure that he had all the herbs in his collection. Then he finally took out a small flask from somewhere and spoke while turning to look at her.
"You were asking about the spirit water. Yeah, we will need that..." The rest of the words failed to come out of his throat when his eyes finally landed on her and noticed the expression on her face.
"You...!" Annalise almost felt like bursting. The man really played her well and still had the cheek to act so innocently like he had no idea about what he did wrong.
"Are you mad because I didn’t use the spell in the beginning?" He finally asked after a few long moments but don’t dare to come closer to her, which was definitely a good idea.
Instead of answering, Annalise just wrapped her arms over her chest and halted at the man. She could hardly believe that he made her collect so many herbs with her hands when he could have done the same with a single spell in less than a minute.
"I know that you must be feeling betrayed but I only did so because I wanted to help you."
Annalise squinted her eyes as she waited for him to explain further about what sort of help he was providing her with that act.
Kenric finally mustered the courage to walk closer to her and when he noticed that there was no change in her expression, he finally hopped in front of her and immediately took both of her hands in his own. "All these magical herbs are filled with magical energy, and touching them for so long has given you some extra energy. Try to feel it."
Annalise looked down at her hands as if she could see what kind of extra energy she had gathered from the herbs just by looking at her hands. Taking in a deep breath, she closed her eyes and tried to feel anything different happening other body.
The first thing that she noticed was the newly formed link that was tying her to Valerius, there were still so many questions that she had to ask regarding the mate bond. She was still struggling to wrap her mind around all the new things that were happening to her.
