The Guardian stopped beside her, its white cloak rippling despite the still air. "This is the Trial of Unity," it said, its voice resonating deep within her bones. "The gate demands trust and harmony. Prove your worth, or the woods will claim your souls."
Lyra glanced at her companions. Thorne stood tall, his hand resting on his sword's hilt, his stormy gray eyes narrowed in suspicion.
