Chapter 168: Arm’s Length
Then the air shifted—a sharp, electric ripple that cut through the melee. From a side passage, Yui Raki and Kimi emerged, their presence commanding instant attention. Their sleek black tech suits flickered with energy fields, their belts lined with gas canisters that hissed faintly as they moved.
Yui’s gauntlets emitted a cold, violet glow, the sharp lines of his suit catching the flickering light of the damaged control panels.
Kimi’s armor, edged with pink highlights, glinted as she moved with cat-like agility.
In a blur of speed, Yui surged forward, his palm strikes landing with precision. Culdrin’s bone armor cracked beneath the assault, each blow echoing through the hub.
The jagged plates splintered and fell away, the impact reverberating across the chamber. Yui sneered, his voice dripping with disdain.
"End this pathetic rebellion," he said coldly, his tone dismissing the rogues as nothing more than a nuisance. A stray plasma round shot toward him, only to be absorbed by the faintly glowing shields on his gauntlets.
Kimi darted through the chaos, her movements unnervingly smooth, almost playful. Her suit’s enhanced agility turned her into a blur, and she laughed lightly as if the battle were nothing more than a game.
"Yui, don’t be so grumpy—let’s wrap this up!" she teased. In one fluid motion, she tossed a canister into the fray. The moment it detonated, a shimmering cloud burst forth, forcing Jasmine’s mist Ikona to recoil. The silvery haze withdrew, rippling against the foreign gas, as the clash of forces in the hub reached a boiling point.
Vira’s serpent Ikona coiled and lashed out, crimson tendrils snapping like whips through the charged air. "You’ll bleed for this, Raki," she snarled, her voice sharp and venomous, her shard flaring a deep, pulsing red. The serpent surged toward Yui’s throat, its movements fluid, deadly, driven by the weight of her vendetta.
