Chapter 51: Fired up
As she spoke, her computer screen began blinking with a line of three dots. Her expression shifted, her grin widening. "Oh?"
Vincent leaned closer, his curiosity piqued. "What’s up?"
"Well, well," she said, her voice laced with amusement. "Looks like the military is moving three shard users."
Vincent’s brows furrowed as he peered at the screen. "What do you mean?"
She pointed to the display, where clusters of red dots moved across a digital map. "See that big cluster? That’s the massive group of shard users stationed together. I guess they haven’t figured out how to conceal their identities properly. But these three here? They just left the group. One of them might be Elara Cross, but it’s hard to say for sure."
Vincent’s gaze lingered on the screen, his jaw tightening. "If it is her, things are about to get a lot more interesting."
"I also have some good news," she said, her tone almost casual as she tapped on her computer screen. "Off the coast of ( ), there’s a small island called Tuiyaki Resort. I’m picking up two pings for shard users there."
Vincent tensed at her words, his eyes narrowing slightly. "I’ll deal with them as well," he said firmly, before adding, "I had a question, though."
The woman smirked, leaning back in her chair. "First off, you need to wait for word from Silas before making a move. Last time, I had to build you a new arm." Her tone turned playful. "It was fun, sure, but still—don’t jump the gun. Now, what’s your question?"
