Chapter 146: INTERUPTED MOMENT
"So, what do you want for your reward?" Ranon asked Hazel, gazing deeply at her while she sat on his lap.
"I want you to come with me to the shareholders’ meeting of my family’s company. It’s in two weeks," Hazel replied.
This was the same proposal she had made to Lucian when she asked him to accompany her for her first meeting with the shareholders.
Hazel had contemplated this decision thoroughly. While she was the best assassin in her family, her understanding of business protocols was limited since she only knew a surface level of it. That was why having Lucian by her side was a tremendous help, but to have Ranon join her felt even more advantageous.
"Do you really want me to come?" Ranon asked, a hint of surprise in his voice.
"Yes!" Hazel exclaimed, a radiant smile lighting up her face.
"Let me know the date," Ranon agreed readily; he reminded himself to clear his schedule on that day.
Hazel’s heart swelled with happiness. In a moment of impulsiveness, she kissed Ranon softly on the lips. The kiss stirred something in him.
Deftly, he scooped Hazel’s body and then walked away towards the bedroom.
"I thought you wanted to give me a reward, not to tire me out," she teased playfully, wrapping her legs around his waist and resting her hands on his shoulders. "You said I looked tired. What are you trying to do? Wear me out even more?"
"I didn’t mean to tire you out," Ranon replied, his tone serious. "I just wanted to show you how much I ’care’."
Hazel understood what he implied and shamelessly didn’t mind at all. "Really? Let’s see how much you truly ’care.’"
