Chapter 120: I WANT MY WIFE BACK
The mention of River’s name made Arlo unable to recover immediately, and Hazel could see that. Actually, it was ridiculous to see his reaction when he was involved in Aubrey’s plan to kill her.
"How do you know her?" Arlo tightened her grip on Hazel’s wrist, and it seemed he didn’t even notice that, yet Hazel didn’t grimace at all.
To be honest, she enjoyed the torment in his eyes, knowing it affected him strongly.
"How long have you known her?" Arlo couldn’t help but fire her with a lot of questions. He didn’t have much time. The music would end and the dance would stop; after that, it would be difficult for him to find alone time with her.
"Long enough," Hazel replied with an indefinite answer.
"Have you... met her?" Arlo tightened his grip again. "When was the last time you met her?" In his eyes, Hazel held so much information that he needed. She was the key for him to find River and learn what happened to her or where she was.
It was hard to hold himself back from asking all of those questions at once.
"Around four months ago," Hazel replied.
Four months ago, it was the time when Aubrey shot River, and that was also the last time Arlo saw her.
"But I have been in contact with her almost every day," Hazel said cheerfully, smiling brilliantly, knowing how much of a torture this was for Arlo.
Just like how Arlo loved to pay close attention to small things about River, she also had the same habit. She knew him enough to use the knowledge against him.
