Hearing that, Hazel could only quote what Rize said to her. "Drop it, Rannon. The more you know, the more you will get into trouble."
Ranon raised his brows when he heard that. "Is that a warning?"
"Yes, I think we agree to mind our own business." Hazel’s voice turned rigid. She was being serious here. "I have so many skeletons inside my closet, and I am sure you are the same. I will not dig into it, and I hope you will give me the same courtesy."
Ranon said nothing when he heard that. Yes, he had a lot of skeletons in his closet, but if Hazel chose not to dig more into it, it was her decision.
But for him, he was going to know in one way or another about what actually Hazel was hiding from him and why she was very different from the information that he had gathered.
Although Ranon wouldn’t drop the topic, he acted complacent. Actually, he was playing a long game. He wouldn’t push her more than this because he knew the more he insisted, the more this woman would close off.
He would wait until Hazel lowered her guard while he dug more about her.
"Don’t worry, I will not bring trouble for you." Hazel grinned. Her facial expression changed in a split second. "You don’t need to be concerned about me. I assure you, I will not ruin anything, neither your reputation nor your image in the public. I will not bring my trouble to you." Hazel patted his arm playfully.
