"Ouch!" he exclaimed, rubbing his nose with exaggerated flair.
A faint red mark bloomed across his cheek, though the sting was more to his pride than his skin.
Syrla’s grin widened, her eyes glinting with triumph. "Next time, don’t mess with a telekinetic," she teased, her voice lilting with smug satisfaction.
She propped herself up on her elbows, her slim frame relaxed but radiating a quiet confidence.
"Oh yeah?" Alex shot back, undeterred.
With a sudden burst of energy, he lunged at her, his body a blur of motion.
He landed atop her, pinning her down to the couch with his weight.
The cushions sank beneath them, creaking faintly under the strain.
