Ethan's heart pounded as he stared at the glowing blue text floating in front of him. His mind was still groggy from waking up, but this... this was something else.
A system? Like in those anime and games?
His fingers twitched, itching to reach out and touch the holographic display, but he hesitated. This isn't normal.
He took a deep breath. "...What the hell is this?"
The glowing letters didn't change. No voice spoke to him, no robotic AI responded. It just hovered there, waiting.
Maybe it's like in the games? Maybe I have to say something specific?
Clearing his throat, he tried again. "Uh... system?"
No response.
He frowned. "Status?"
