Chapter 32: Seed Of Greed
In a small, dark cavern with smooth black walls, golden light flickered through swirling mist, casting shifting shadows across the silent, empty space.
At its center floated a black crystal, roughly the size of a human heart, its surface laced with golden cracks like veins of hidden treasure.
Every few seconds, those cracks pulsed rhythmically, releasing tendrils of translucent golden smoke that carried a faintly sweet, metallic scent.
Without a doubt, anyone who gazed upon it would feel an overwhelming surge of insatiable desire to own and possess it, for this was one of the Seeds of Greed.
It was a pity that there was no one inside to own it—
"Bzzzzzt!"
As the black crystal floated silently in the dark cavern, suddenly the silence was interrupted by the loud screeching sound of rupture, as if space itself was about to be torn apart.
And it was precisely that, as suddenly the empty cavern was filled by a human girl, thrown out of the space crack that swiftly disappeared behind her.
"Cough... cough..."
Lilith couldn’t help but cough lightly, covering her mouth as she struggled to steady her breath.
"The space is too unstable," she mumbled quickly, gathering herself.
