Chapter 493: Where Are The Enemies?
Alora’s blue eyes gleamed with a strange light as she looked at Kael now.
There was a way she felt as she looked at Kael now. Seeing Kael blatantly persuade and subtly twist Gabby’s mind intrigued her.
What truly caught Alora’s attention was the power games Kael was playing. She was aware that someone like Kael wouldn’t necessarily do something blindly without checking for risk.
Everything that Kael was doing now, he had probably simulated them several times in his mind before actually executing it.
Such was the nature of a carefully thought-out power game. And it intrigued Alora.
Alora felt an alignment, as if she and Kael were trying to go toward the same place, heading for the same goals, and having the same priorities.
The way he casually manipulated and dominated the conversation between him and Gabby.
It was so...magnetic.
She wanted to learn more.
No, she wanted to see more.
Alora had the strong desire to see Kael play more of these power games, just for the sake of it.
It was at this time that she was also starting to notice how broad his shoulders were and how handsome his humanoid face was.
Kael was quite...attractive.
Aloa narrowed her eyes as she noticed that her thoughts were going astray from what she wanted.
All of a sudden, she began to question why she had come here in the first place. She even questioned why she had told Kael that she was coming.
Was it necessary? Now that she thought about it, it really didn’t sound like a normal thing.
Shawty had pointed it out but because she also wanted to follow Alora to see Kael, she didn’t say anything.
Shawty on the other hand was just incredibly horny and wanted Kael to do her immediately.
Unfortunately, Kael could not pay attention to them and even if he could, he might not take them seriously.
There were more important things on his mind than entertaining these two lionesses who were nothing more than confused in his eyes.
"That’s what you’ll do. Don’t go and aggressively demand that they join, be subtle.
Since you said you’re smart, I’ll leave it to you then."
Kael said, rounding up his conversation with Gabby which had lasted for more than an hour.
Now that it was made clear that Kael had something he wanted, Gabby was more willing to work for him. And the benefits that he was starting to notice about the lion system prevented him from having second thoughts.
"All-King, I’ll try my best. I’m sure some of them will have a change of heart once they see what you have to offer," Gabby said, giving Kael a really serious bow.
"Alright then, you may leave. I’ll contact you and you can contact me through the system chat when it’s necessary," Kael said.
"Should I let them know that I’ve joined your side?" Gabby asked the last question before he would leave.
"Be subtle about it. Don’t try to hide it, but don’t try to flaunt it either. The system has privileges that you can use to draw them in.
And remember, every lion king you bring to the system comes with a referral reward.
I know lions who got insanely rich because they had a lot of friends and referred to all of them.
If you can do that with the lion kings, research material would be the last thing on your mind in the future."
Kael dropped the last hook, another assurance that Gabby would do what he was told.
Kael intentionally didn’t introduce any fear factor as the threat of being labeled a sinner was enough.
Anxious and excited, Gabby held the info orb with his four arms and wandered out of the meeting room.
He couldn’t wait to see the look on those guys’ faces once he showed the info orbs to them. He guessed that some might even want to see Kael personally to know where he got them from.
Gabby knew his place so he did not ask.
Now, Kael, N’bayé, Alora, and Shawty were the only ones left in the room.
"I have some things to do," N’bayé said before leaving. She was oblivious to what Alora and Shawty were doing here and since she wasn’t part of it, she had better allocate her time to more productive things.
Aside from now, N’bayé and Alora had never seen each other before. N’bayé was never aware that someone like Alora had been present in Planet Eridoria at some point.
Alora watched N’bayé walk out, narrowing her eyes at the tiny, inconspicuous life force growing within her.
This was one of Kael’s consorts. Apart from Chloe, Alora didn’t know any other person.
"Greetings, All-King," As soon as N’bayé left the room, Shawty shot up to her feet and excitedly bowed to Kael.
Kael glanced at her and nodded his head.
He was dismissive, not really paying attention to either of them.
Shawty’s smile froze. A rejection from a random lion, she wouldn’t mind. But a rejection from the Primordial Lion himself, that would mess with her mentally.
Subconsciously, Shawty turned around to see Alora’s expression. Alora was still as cold as before, but there was understanding in her eyes.
"He’s busy," Alora said to Shawty telepathically.
Shawty raised an eyebrow in confusion.
She turned back to Kael and noticed that he was looking at something in the air with a contemplative expression.
Seeing this, Shawty calmed down. This was usual when Lions were operating their Lion System and engaging in an important chat.
She calmed her mind and told herself that it wasn’t that Kael wanted to dismiss her, he was just busy.
So Shawty waited.
And indeed, Kael was busy chatting on the lion system.
....
Exalon: How was the meeting, All-King?
Kael: Half done. Still waiting on the results.
Exalon: I’m sure everything will work out soon enough.
Kael: Did you help me find out why everywhere is so eerily peaceful?
...
Kael had noticed that something was off ever since he came to heaven. It’s been a week or so since he arrived and he has not yet received the heat and resistance that he was expecting.
Kael wasn’t aware of all the enemies that he had, but he was aware that there were many.
He was surprised that none of them had made a move yet. No assassination, no siege, no spies.
Nothing.
It was almost like his enemies were busy with something else.
...
Exalon: I did some digging in and asked some questions.
Some of our lions who fought dragon officials recently mentioned that the dragons seemed a bit off.
They were not as aggressive and bent on fighting the lions as before. It was like they were distracted by something.
There was also a time when one of them encountered the dragon fighting horrifically with another serpentine-like creature.
Just yesterday, word came out that Draconic Heaven has been thrown into chaos.
Another immortal appeared and has prevented Ibadon from taking action for the time being.
The Dragon Empress came back from her vacation or something and became absolutely furious.
Some even say that her fury is pushing her closer and closer to the immortal tier.
The dragons seem to be having an internal war with an ancient cousin of theirs.
However, this doesn’t really change much in my opinion. Ibadon is the one who hates lions, not the dragons.
Just because they are having an internal war doesn’t stop Ibadon from acting personally.
If he finds out that you are in Leonine Heaven, he might come to get you himself. He’s part lion and would have no issue coming to us if he wants to.
Although, I doubt he would do that as there would be a lot of resistance from every single corner.
Irrespective of who they were or how they felt about you, Ibadon is a common enemy of the lions. Even Ma’abu won’t sit by.
Imagine being attacked by seven and a half million lion kings and their clan members along with their arkships.
That’s enough power to destroy thousands of galaxies over and over again.
Ah, if only we could be united in other things. Oh well.
If Ibadon wants to invade Leonine Heaven with a higher chance of success, he would have to be supported by an army like he did the first time during Noel’s era.
Kael: Hmmm, I see. Your thoughts are interesting too.
Do you think the war will end anytime soon?
Exalon: I can’t say for sure. We would have to arrange for spies and body hijackers to infiltrate the dragon empire.
Kael: No problem. If their internal war can stall them and Ibadon for the meantime, we should help fan the flames.
Exalon: I agree, we should encourage their war from the shadows.
However, I don’t think Ibadon and Empress Elizabeth will be happy with that once they find out.
Kael: So what if they find out? They can turn our lions to traitors but we can’t? They can go fuck themselves.
What about the Bees and Ma’abu?
Exalon: The Bees are still dormant, but I heard Hive Heaven has become more active and has started producing more honey since Empress Elizabeth left.
Ma’abu? He’s still nowhere to be found for now. But he should definitely be aware that you are in Leonine Heaven.
