Chapter 481: Suitors
Shawty grunted while walking down the hallway with a stern expression.
Her tall and imposing figure spoke of unmatched potential and the desire to crush all obstacles that stood in her way.
Walking beside Alora, they looked like opposites.
Shawty looked a bit barbaric with her style of dressing. Her braided hair was pulled to the back and fell to her curvy butt. After that were five lion tails that swished about with different colors of flames burning at the ends of their length.
She looked like the kind of person who wouldn’t move out of the way for anybody and would probably do anything to get what she wants.
And walking beside was Alora who gave off a much colder vibe.
Her hair remained long and white, like a snowy waterfall. It was combed to the side and fell over her shoulder, a new style that she had been attempting these days for some reason.
The two pristine white ears sat beautifully on her head in the midst of her well-arranged hairstyle.
She wore less formal attire. A black long-sleeved top that contrasted heavily with her skin and hair. Then she had on simple but tight blue jeans trousers.
Because of the gowns she usually wore in the past, it wasn’t always easy to identify the contours of Alora’s body in her humanoid form.
One could at most appreciate her extraordinary albino beauty and imagine what lay beneath her clothing fabric.
Now that she wore clothes that hugged her body more than the others, one could say that Alora was truly blessed by the heavens.
The front of her black top curved out to form the mound of her covered breasts while the jean trousers revealed the curvature of her hips as well as the bountiful and powerful thighs.
"Did you make yourself look pretty for him?" Shawty asked with a frown and her eyes narrowing dangerously.
Her red eyes darted to the side, taking a look at Alora’s white face.
Alora didn’t react emotionally and her face was still cold and aloof.
"No, I wouldn’t be going if you didn’t ask in the first place," Alora said, leveling her voice and not revealing anything from her tone.
Shawty scoffed, "I asked if you were going, I didn’t ask you to come,"
Alora’s blue eyes seemed to hold back surprising levels of chilliness.
"You can go without me," Alora said.
"Why? So that you can work your way to meet him without me? Nope," Shawty shook her head vehemently, deciding to tag along with Alora no matter what.
"Aren’t you a Lion Queen with male consorts? Why are you interested in Kael?" Alora suddenly asked as they both approached two double doors at the end of the wide hallway.
"Hmph, I can leave it all behind if he wants me to be his consort," Shawty said.
Alora raised an eyebrow, "I don’t think Kael would like that,"
"Oh, so you know what he likes and what he doesn’t like, good. Very good.
And why do you keep calling him by his name as if you guys are familiar? He is the All-King. Put some respect to that name!" Shawty said, raising her voice at the end.
She was truly livid right now. If she had known the Primordial Lion would exist in her own time, she wouldn’t have become a Lion Queen.
The allure of being Kael’s consort was higher than being a ruler.
That Alora had more chances with Kael and still acted so cold and arrogant annoyed her before but she didn’t think much of it. But now, she had been noticing some strange behaviors from Alora that she didn’t feel comfortable with.
Alora didn’t hear anymore. She put her focus on he visitors she was about to turn down.
The double doors at the end of the hallway slid into the walls automatically as the two Lion Queens stepped through.
They had walked into a waiting room, plain with a few pillow seats lying around.
Shawty immediately changed her facial expression, adopting a calmer and less intimidating vibe.
She walked away from Alora to stand on the side.
Alora remained cold though. Her chin even seemed to be raised higher now and that very look of disdain could be seen in her eyes.
Two other figures had been waiting in the room, and both were males.
One had white hair, ears, and tail, just like Alora, with a darker skin complexion. He was just like Alora, a Frost Lion.
His eyes were blue and also showed a certain level of distress. He wasn’t cold like Alora, but he was reserved and gentle.
The other person was a familiar face Alora had seen before and even interacted with.
This was someone that she had met during the expedition to Eridoria.
Back then, the members of the Cross Claw Alliance had organized young prodigies to go down and search for the lost Heavenly Beacon.
Besides Chloe and Xu Ying, Alora was not too familiar with the rest, but she knew them.
Among the youths that had been sent there, one of them was a lion with a really calm disposition.
An Electric Lion with a mix of white fur and a blueish-white mane. He was the one who had nonchalantly assessed the fight between Kael and the cheetah brothers from far away inside the pocket dimension.
Just like that time, his demeanor was exactly the same. Calm and collected like a brewing storm.
Yes, the eyes of this young man standing before Alora right now were just like that. He was someone who was bottling up so much energy and craziness within him, allowing him to keep a calm attitude on he outside.
Alora found it easy to talk with his type of person but she could never trust him, just like she could never trust anyone.
"I hope you’re not surprised that I’m one of your suitors, Alora," Said the calm man with blueish-white hair.
Alora condescendingly looked at him, "I am actually, Aurelius. You’re one of those lazy but ambitious people.
I know you’re nonchalant but not to the point of bringing yourself to this level. It’s quite...submissive."
Alora didn’t even glance at the other male standing on he other side.
Aurelius, the calm lion in his humanoid form, merely smiled at Alora’s subtle insult.
"What can I say, I am indeed lazy. Besides, power loves power. I might love you as time goes by," Aurelius said.
Alora could see the struggle in Aurelius’ eyes through the flicker of blue electricity that flashed into existence once in a while.
Even Aurelius couldn’t believe he words coming out of his mouth, it was against his pride.
Alora then ignored him for now and looked at the other white haired male in the room.
"And?" Alora asked.
"I’m ready to be your consort, Queen Alora. I’ll do anything for such a powerful lioness like you!" The white haired male said with reverence in his eyes.
This one was not purely genuine but Alora could tell that he meant almost everything he said.
Seeing such a person, a lion that was supposed to be dominant, be submissive, created strange feelings within Alora’s heart.
She liked the feeling of being worshiped, but she also disliked the presence of such weaklings.
She couldn’t help but compare them to a golden-haired individual she knew of.
"My name is..." The white haired male began but Alora raised her hand to stop him.
"No need, your efforts are wasted on me. I’m not accepting any suitors, I also don’t plan on having any consorts," Alora said firmly.
Shawty who rested her back against the wall with her arms folded scoffed. She expected this.
"If you don’t mind me asking, why? You’re a Lion Queen, are you not?" Aurelius asked, the smile on his face already wiped away.
"My reasons are personal, that is all," Alora then attempted to turn away and walk out of the room.
"Is it because of the Primordial? I heard he has come to your rescue twice. Is that why you’re suddenly compromising your ideology?" Aurelius did not give up and asked with a rising tone.
Alora paused, the room suddenly getting colder.
Aurelius had just entered tier 4 and was no match for Alora, so he shut his mouth immediately, albeit unwillingly.
"You are right Aurelius, power loves power," Alora nodded, "But you are not powerful, and I also don’t think you are capable of love.
You merely want to latch on to someone you know will achieve greatness...
Someone like me.
You might even set your eyes on my Heavenly Beacon in the future if you haven’t already.
You would do well to watch your mouth around me."
After Alora said that, she walked away, putting it all at the back of her mind and leaving Aurelius, Shawty, and the last male in the spacious room.
"Do you think the Primordial is capable of love?" Aurelius asked no one, muttering under his breath with his fist clenched but a smile on his face.
He should have kept this within his mind because Shawty heard him.
"Who knows," Shawty answered Aurelius audibly for him to hear, "But he has power.
That’s more than enough,"
Shawty said before following after Alora, remembering that they had somewhere to go.
The visitors were left with no one to escort them out and a heart filled with indignation.
