Chapter 479: The Great Purification
That very day that Kael ascended to heaven, many developments had already taken place.
By the end of the day, the question that had been on many Lion Kings minds was finally answered.
Many of them had already been intoxicated by the missions and the desire for conquest that Kael had been subtly pushing.
Every chant ’For The Conquering’ in the forums had them mildly agitated and they felt their energy rising too much.
Their Lionhood Bars had been filled and they needed an outlet.
Us versus them, that was what they were starting to think. One look at the current state of affairs in heaven and one could tell that the whole civilization was at a very precarious tipping point.
This was mostly caused by the appearance of Kael in heaven. Many lions were starting to grow restless.
They wanted to fight, they wanted to kill, they wanted to punish, they wanted to conquer.
It felt like something was standing in their way and lions did not necessarily like anything standing in the way of their ambition.
So many ambitious kings and regal entities, all boiling with the primal desire.
The last time this many lions were restless at the same time was when Noel was alive.
Any sudden movements from the leaders of both parties would ignite a war, it would be the start of an inevitable bloodbath.
Out of all the factions, only one side would be able to come out on top. All the others were destined to die off, crushed to divine dust by the victors.
All that was needed was just one push, one little push.
...
Lion System.
[ANNOUNCEMENT:
The All-King, the King of Kings, the Primordial Lion, has returned to the throne world of his predecessors.
Rejoice Kings, a new era has arrived, bathe in the light of the coming dawn, and embrace the warmth of your true calling.
The All-King has not just come to restore the lions to their true glory, he is determined to take us to heights never reached before.
With might and majesty, it is possible.
Unfortunately...
Nefarious, evil, despicable, vile, utterly unforgivable creatures have reared their heads amongst us.
Their mission? To prevent us from performing our true calling.
IT IS OUR DUTY TO CONQUER THE UNIVERSE, yet they wish to prevent us from fulfilling our duty.
This isn’t just treachery, it’s the greatest sin against the Primordial Lion.
It is an even greater sin against our Law of Conquering.
It is Heresy.
They are sinners
Sinners must be punished, wiped from the very surface of the heavenverse.
Therefore, we charge and take out our mantles.
Grand Civilization Quest: For The Conquering.
Phase 1: The Great Purification
Description: Sinners, heretics, those who wish to stall the fulfillment of our duty are at large.
Every second they spend among the living, the true rulers of the universe wither and die.
We must expel them from heaven and from the living.

They have chosen to stand against the Law, we shall cleanse them for such.
Kings, go forth in the name of the All-King, cleanse our civilization of all those who resist our Duty.
Objectives: All who resist the Primordial Lion resist the Law of Conquering. They are the sinners, traitors, and heretics.
Purification by complete elimination is required.
Reward: Mystery Treasure, 1 Lionhood Bar refill slot.
For The Conquering.
...]
....
When that announcement arrived on the lion system, all lions linked to the system had received it.
What ensued was a calm before the storm.
It was like an arrow that had just left the boundaries of its bow.
At first, there was nothing.
The first day didn’t really have much activity, although the restlessness could be practically felt in the area.
They were preparing.
Shuttles were being loaded and arkships were being refilled with Origin Essence.
There were a large number of reports that many heavenly gates were being opened.
Some neutral fortune lions had sensed the unease in heaven and had decided to leave for the time being with their allies.
Meanwhile, many of the heavenly gates were a result of lion lords coming to heaven to prepare for what was to come.
All the pillar coalitions of the lion civilization were reacting to it in different ways.
The Strings Of Fate Coalition wished to stay neutral, not because they didn’t support Kael, but because many of them could not afford to choose a side.
The fate of the whole civilization rested in them and any slight mistake could lead to the destruction of everything they had worked for.
So while heaven was boiling over, the String of Fate Coalition was there to maintain the luck of the civilization.
Many Fortune Lions who were already part of the lion system were advised to keep their paws and focus on the main matter.
It was hard work.
Hard work that Kael did not care about at all
He couldn’t give the slightest fucks that they were propping up the whole race.
What he cared about was that the string of fate was a double-edged sword that could turn to harm him and his ambition if not taken care of early.
Currently, that was the first faction he wished to see after coming to heaven.
And he was not going alone.
Another coalition was at play here.
The Battle Born Coalition.
Unlike the Strings of Fate Coalition which only had fortune lions as members, the Battle Born Coalition was made up of different types of lions.
All of them had the same ideals, to fight.
One could say that they were the unofficial main fighters of the whole civilization. They were the ones who usually gathered to form resistance whenever there was a civilization war.
Exalon just happened to be a very long-time member of this Battle Born Coalition.
Most of Exalon’s friends were from this coalition and a majority of the lion kings supporting Kael had come from the Battle Born Coalition.
Although not even one-fifth of the members of the Coalition had joined, enough of them were on Kael’s side.
Their members were spread out all over the space of heaven and all those who lived close to Exalon were members of the Battle Born Coalition.
It was one of the reasons why he had no problem gathering them to his pyramid.
If Alora and the Fanged Flower Alliance were part of the Battle Born Coalition lion system members, he would have invited them.
They were the ones who were most eager for Kael’s move to be made. They wanted Kael to take action and they would follow.
They were to follow Kael and Exalon to the headquarters of the String of Fate Coalition.
But before that, the rising tension that was a result of the announcement on the lion system had reached a boiling point.
It was no longer about needing a final push. One person, just one person had to try something and everything would scatter.
A few skirmishes between clans were starting to unfold in different locations by the morning of the next day but it wasn’t that serious.
That was because another heavy announcement had been made to the lion system again earlier that morning.
[The Great Purification: Phase 1.
Starting mission: Cleansing our destiny.
Description: We must make sure that those whom we trust to maintain the good fortune of our civilization are not secretly working against our universal duty.
Objectives: All who resist the Primordial Lion resist the Law of Conquering. They are the sinners, traitors, and heretics.
Purification by complete elimination is required.
Reward: Same as overall Grand Quest: 1 mystery treasure, 1 Lionhood Bar refill slot.
Note: The All-King will be there.
...]
This new mission, which was born from the grand civilization quest, was a little more specific.
It was clear that their first target would be the Strings of Fate Coalition.
A lot were anxious. This was the string of fate coalition after all. A literal organization of those who could collectively warp reality with their power of fortune.
They had every right to be wary.
But the note that implied Kael.was going to be there seemed to push their minds into overdrive.
And just like that, that early morning, under the multicolored skies and void of Leonine Heaven, the first move was made.
This was like a snowball effect. As soon as one started moving, many others began to move, as if they had been waiting for Kael to make a move himself.
Thousands of arkships sped through the void, chasing after the distant start of the civil war.
It was just early morning, a lot could happen before the end of the day.
Meanwhile, Kael, the master of all those announcements, was already waiting at the entrance of the String of Fate Coalition.
He was already here the moment he posted the last announcement.
"How should we proceed?" Exalon asked. Standing like a faithful oversized advisor beside Kael on the top of the arkship.
Kael allowed himself to indulge in the breathtaking scenery. Just because he was moving mad didn’t mean he couldn’t acknowledge the beauty of heaven.
The red star that was suspended in the distance as well as the ring of small islands revolving around the star.
This was the headquarters of the String of Fate Coalition.
"There’s no need to rush for this one, the process is what matters here," Kael said, talking calmly as though he was used to this.
Ozia, the tall child who was also with them, nodded his head in approval.
