Chapter 436: Smuggling Charm
Empyrean Dust Galaxy.
It had been a few days since the Primordial Wolf had been caught and taken into custody by the consorts of Kael.
Kael, the king and master operator of many operations at the moment, sat naked at the edge of his bed. His head was bowed and his forehead rested in his palms.
The short locks of his blonde hair covered his face from the view of the world.
Behind him, lying on the bed, were Nalii and Katari. Both were naked and unconscious with sticky liquids spilling from their genital area.
It had been a satisfying session, one more before they left for Planet Kareem.
Although Kael’s eyes were closed, his vision was filled with the golden screen of the Lion System.
Particularly the section that listed all the lions whose identity marks were attached to the system.
It was growing fast.
A few days ago, it was just four hundred and fifty million identity marks. Now it was slightly above five hundred million identity marks.
And it was still steadily increasing.
Kael’s plan was working.
Because of Pagast, there had been a lot of unrest among the Primordial Supporters. No one knew who was who.
Kael was still working on a means to detect the passive destruction essence but that would take some time to work on.
In the meantime, he had created something that could work to not only help in finding these traitors, but also expand his influence through the system.
The very process of adding identity marks and joining the lion system was what Kael used.
Whenever a new lion joined the Lion System, it would cause a bit of Conquering Essence to infiltrate their whole body and mind, allowing it to make changes.
Normally, this was a normal thing that wouldn’t warrant any change in any lion at all.
But if a lion was harboring Destruction Essence or any other essence within them at the time of joining the Lion System, it would cause a slight reaction.
Conquering Essence was innately dominant and it would naturally try to suppress any other essence that was in its way, including Destruction Essence.
So in that moment when the Conquering Essence was being infused into the new lion that joined the system, it would clash with any foreign essence if there was any.
It would only be for a brief moment.
However, this could only work at the very moment the lions were joining the Lion System as after that, they could just subconsciously shift the destruction essence into a passive state to prevent it from reacting to the Conquering Essence.
This was enough for Kael however as he had modified the system in the past two days to take care of this.
Currently, the Leonine Heaven is experiencing some serious undercurrent activities.
The Primordial Supporters, Kael’s tools for expansion, were aware of the new modifications to the system and were making use of it to aggressively recruit more lions into the system.
It was more like an investigation than an active recruitment.
Basically, a Primordial Supporter would approach a neutral lion or lioness and ’suggest’ that he or she join the lion system.
If the said prospect joined and the system didn’t react, all would be good and the recruiter would just get his referral reward.
However, if the system detected the foreign essence, the new lion would be tagged as a traitor and a public mission would be issued for immediate termination.
It was that ruthless.
They weren’t even considering other possibilities. As soon as the mission was issued, thousands of lions would flock to the skies and chase the traitors to death.
And if the peradventure, the lion that was asked to join the lion system refused to join, it would be seen as suspicious. This time, the recruiter could issue an investigation mission publicly.
It was simple, join the lion system to prove that you are not a traitor. And if you are a traitor, you will die. If you aren’t, you live. If you refuse to join, you are a suspect.
A lot of things have been discovered by Kael in these past few days. Not all of these ’traitors’ were using the Destruction Essence.
Kael had just realized that there was some kind of smuggling ring that dealt with Charm Essence.
At first, he was confused as he didn’t recognize the law this Essence belonged to. But after talking with Exalon, he was told that it was probably just Charm Essence.
So apparently, there was a secret underground trade in heaven that sold Charm Essence to lions.
It sounded funny but was also a serious matter.
That there was charm essence meant that a Primordial Peacock was supplying that Charm Essence somewhere.
Kael had to find it.
Unintentionally, when these lions that had Charm Essence instead of Destruction Essence joined the system, they were tagged as traitors and were killed before they could explain themselves.
Kael had just made some slight modifications again as he sat at the edge of the bed.
Now, the system would be able to differentiate between Destruction Essence and any other Essence.
Kael was using the system to keep a lookout for any news or leads that would direct him to his next Primordial subordinate.
The Primordial Wolf of the Law of Hunting was secured, but he was just the beginning. Kael wanted to find as many as fast as possible as they served as a direct addition to his power.
He was still contemplating whether he should post a mission related to the Primordials so that the lions could help him find them.
It was a reasonable thing to do and it would save him time, instead of waiting for each Primordial to emit a pulse first.
But if he did that, it could attract Ibadon’s attention through the spies that were already in the lion system long ago.
If that happened, Ibadon would know that Kael was looking for other Primordials and would know where to find him.
With the kind of experience Ibadon has and his authority in the Dragon Empire, it wouldn’t be hard for him to track Kael down then.
Kael was bold but definitely not stupid or overconfident. It was better to avoid Ibadon, that was just common sense.
The All-king would have to use indirect means to find them.
Once again, with his head still buried in his palms, Kael imagined himself commanding a league of powerful Primordials and having access to a vast array of strange powers.
The Law of Conquering was truly a magnificent power of the universe.
"Kael?" Nalii’s voice reached Kael’s ears from behind him. Kael raised his head and turned slightly to see Nalii still lying on the bed.
Katari was already up and awake, sitting on the other side of the bed and preparing herself to follow Kael wherever he went.
There was a faint smile on Katari’s lips, one which she didn’t make much effort to hide.
"Get ready, we’ll be leaving soon," Kael said to Katari specifically.
Nalii was not following them as she needed to be present to maintain some semblance of Kael’s authority and serve as his backup in the arkship.
In case anything was to go wrong...
Hopefully, nothing like that would happen.
"We’ve kept the caste leaders waiting," Nalii commented with a mischievous smile as she pulled the sheets over her body. She had no intention of getting up from the bed.
Her green and brown hair was sprawled out beside her head and her antlers cast a warm green light on the white sheets. She looked like a tainted fairy hiding her body from the corruption of mortality.
"Hmm," Kael did not say anything concerning Nalii’s comment. Indeed, they had kept the caste leaders waiting with their little quickie activities.
The caste leaders were already assembled at a chamber world for shuttles and waiting for Kael to show up.
Kael stood up from the edge of the bed, a white and black robe forming over his body.
"Take care, mother," Kael said to Nalii before taking a step forward. Instantly, he and Katari disappeared from the room, leaving Nalii all alone.
////
Kael and Katari appeared inside a chamber world, fully clothed.
This chamber world was used to house the shuttles and it was here that the caste leaders were waiting for Kael.
Today was the day that Kael and his subordinates left the arkship to travel to Planet Kareem.
This short trip came with two objectives, the first was retrieving the Primordial Wolf for integration into Kael’s circle.
The second objective was to unearth the secrets held by Planet Kareem.
Why was Planet Kareem here? Why was it called Planet Kareem? Why were there humans on this planet?
Why were there also werewolves and other strange creatures existing here? What was the relationship between the humans here and the mysterious limiter seal N’bayé had extracted from Isaiah?
What history did Planet Kareem have with the universe?
Kael had a feeling that this planet would surprise him greatly.
