Shen Mianmian checked the time and asked, "Can we get to the film set within an hour?"
The driver glanced at his watch and replied, "It’s a bit challenging, given that it’s the peak hour for commuting in the morning, and the roads are quite congested."
Hearing this, Shen Mianmian could only say, "Then there’s no need to rush; safety comes first."
After speaking, she called the director and explained that she had woken up late and might not be able to arrive at the set on time. This was the first time Shen Mianmian was late, but coupled with her consistently polite attitude, the director expressed understanding and told her to take her time, mentioning they would reschedule her scenes to the afternoon.
Shen Mianmian expressed her gratitude, then hung up the phone and called Ruan Feng.
"Dad, I have filming this afternoon and might not be able to make it. Can you reschedule the meeting for Monday? I don’t have any scenes on Monday."
Ruan Feng didn’t think much about it and immediately agreed, "Okay, you focus on your filming. I’ll let you know once I’ve booked the appointment."
"Mhm."
Shen Mianmian hung up the phone, staring blankly out the car window at the scenery.
An hour later, they arrived at the film set. The driver helped her open the car door, "Miss Shen, we’ve arrived."
"Mhm."
