"Even if Xining exaggerated, it’s a fact that others approached Xining first for the film projects. Shen Mianmian is still studying, and she should be focusing all her efforts on her schooling. If she were involved in films, how could she possibly have the mind for studying?"
She sighed deeply, a pained expression crossing her face, "Xining has always liked Xiaonan, and we all thought the two children would get married. Now that Xiaonan suddenly got close to Shen Mianmian, Xining is already heartbroken. She’s trying to shift her focus to acting now, and here Shen Mianmian is taking over her roles. How could she possibly feel okay about it?"
Listening to Ruan Lingyu continuously defend Cheng Xining, Fu Hua felt increasingly unfair on behalf of Shen Mianmian.
"Mianmian films only on Saturdays and Sundays; it doesn’t interfere with her regular studies. Xiaonan has never liked Xining, it was us, their elders, who wished it without considering the children’s feelings. We shouldn’t morally bind Mianmian."
Ruan Lingyu looked at Fu Hua skeptically, "Xiaohua, didn’t you also dislike Shen Mianmian before? Why are you now defending her at every turn? If it’s because she is ’Mianmian’ that you’re siding with her, you really don’t need to. That might just spoil her."
