"Isn’t she pretty?" Sofia stood next to me.
"Yes."
Johnny brought cigars and fruits and was about to talk to me, kid, that’s my woman.
"Honey, come to the kitchen and help me. Sofia, you and Kenny can watch TV, wait for us for a while."
Johnny’s wife called him away.
The boss was anxious, wanting to warn me that I’m just an actor, to play this role well, but he couldn’t find an opportunity to talk to me.
Sofia and I went to the living room, where a giant TV hung on the smoke-colored wall. Sitting on a black leather sofa, I turned on the TV.
In the kitchen behind, Johnny wore an apron, washing ingredients.
My eyes met his, and Johnny gave me a thumbs-up, sliding it across his neck, warning me not to mess around.
"Kenny, do you work at the club now?"
Amy was marinating ribs, handling the main course earnestly, squeezing the meat with her hands as if massaging it to blend the spices in.
