Chapter 21 - 17: My Sister Was Bullied
The policewoman stood on the street texting me, her brows furrowed. She knew there was something suspicious. The arrest operation was swift; if no one leaked the information, the driver wouldn’t have left early. Moreover, considering Claude’s time of death, he died this afternoon, and the driver must have left to bury the evidence.
Only high-level internal members of the police station could access the information first, at least someone at the rank of chief inspector or above. Damn it.
Stella cursed under her breath, pacing back and forth beside the police car. "Why do you say perfect?"
"Did Claude have a history of drug use?"
"Yes!"
"So was there high-purity cocaine on the scene?"
"There were some traces, yes. Oh, and he drank a lot too."
"No signs of a struggle, which means Claude knew the killer and wasn’t on guard. Was the scene messy, with signs of rummaging?"
Stella seemed lost in thought as she looked at my reply. "Yes."
"Couldn’t find cocaine, right?"
"How do you know?" the policewoman exclaimed.
