Chapter 65: Second Thoughts
"I agree!" Edward shook his head. He must have gone crazy to take this gamble.
"Shall we announce it then?" he extended his hand for her to hold but Olivia hesitated.
" today?" Olivia told herself that she should be relieved. It went much smoother and faster than she had expected. Edward was a shrew, he would not let fate decide for him. But it was Damon’s special day. That child had suffered much. In the past, he had never basked in the praise of the nobles. He was always ridiculed under Oriana’s schemes.
She had noticed how everyone was waiting to congratulate him.
"Are you having second thoughts?" Olivia blinked and stared at Edward’s dark face.
"I do not wish to test your patience, your highness. But I am afraid her majesty would have a bad impression of me if you announced it today without informing her in advance." She bowed her head submissively, leaving EDdward stunned.
Though her mother’s annoyance of the crown prince and his majesty was an open secret. Not everyone knew that she was a calculating and controlling person. How did Olivia know that her majesty did not support her?
"... alright! Then give me a week. I will send you a letter soon." he kissed the back of her hand. His eyes looked at her like a lover, but he did not notice any affection for him.
"You are an ambitious person, Olivia. You did not even hide that you have no love for me." the words felt full of resentment. Olivia was sure she had heard wrong. Edward never loved anyone, especially not her.
