Olivia’s eyes widened as she glared at the man entering the balcony as if it belonged to him even when it literally belonged to him.
"Ah! I was wondering who was bold enough to worry her after the last moon ball. It was you! No wonder." Edward chuckled with a bemused look on his face when he noticed Olivia glaring dagger at Damon.
Was the rumor that Olivia was afraid of the duke and his first child was also wrong? Looks like his spies had not taken a good care when it comes to reporting about Olivia. She was not like that at all.
"Your highness!" Damon bowed but there was no reverence in his eyes, "I only wanted to dance with the lady. But it seems she was waiting for someone else. No wonder she rejected the dress I had sent for her." Edward paused. His eyes flickering from Olivia to Damon.
His hand snaked around Olivia’s waist at once and he pulled her closer.
"It seems I have snatched something from you, Damon. I will compensate with a grand gift later. Now if you excuse us, we will prefer privacy." Olivia had stiffened in Edward’s arms.
She did not want to fall out with Damon. She was only playing around to keep his curiosity until she found a better way to explain everything. But if he marked her as his enemy. With that through, she wriggled from Edward’s arm.
"Your highness, there are so many guests around. It would not be appropriate for us to stay here." Damon’s eyes narrowed at her actions and he chuckled.
"Looks like my aunt did not prefer your suggestion, your highness." He held Olivia’s hands and pulled her away from Edward’s grasp. But Edward held her hand.
