Chapter 57: Special Dress
"My lady!" The maid was relieved to see Olivia was teaching the kids dancing instead of Maybelline. "Her grace had asked me to confirm that the lord and the lady were ready for the ball."
The maid stared at the kids discreetly as they continued dancing.
"Sister had allowed Abi to attend the ball." The maid had a wry smile on her face as she nodded. How could the duchess now allow it when you have created such a scene in the last banquet. That time she had brushed the rumors by saying the young lady was sick. She had an image to maintain, how could she make the same excuse again!
The maid coughed at her naive question.
"Since you are preparing the kids, make sure they know how to hold a conversation. Dance and eat in front of others. If they were not presentable, the young lady would be punished harshly." The last words were said with a meaningful look. The maid left when Olivia nodded positively. A huge burden was lifted off her shoulders.
Leo and Abi noticed her aunt’s expressions. When the maid left, they could not help but stare at Olivia with expectations. For them, she was their eyes. They see the world through her.
Olvia smiled at them as if assuring them and changed the song. Leo bowed and held Abi’s hands. Abi bowed in response and they both took their position. The music started and they danced again.
Since they do not have another partner, they practiced together for two hours. Olvia was sure this was also the reason that Oriana needed Abi in the ball.
’Aunt we are tired. I can not wear heels any longer." Abi paused and rubbed her feet with an aching look. Olivia waved her hands and the guard playing the music paused and left after bowing his head.
