Chapter 48: Young Couples
"Yet your face lost colors." Elio sighed. He did not want to worry Amber with the struggles but she was his only confidant. After the death of his mother, his position was constantly challenged by the new queen and her child, Edward. If not for the support of Amber and her family, he would have lost a long time ago. "I am too hard on you. Am i not?" he felt incompetent as a crown prince.
"Others might have chosen their partner for power and position. But I am lucky to have you. And yet I do nothing but complain. You must be exhausted with me." Amber’s eyes softened and she sighed.
"You speak as if our relationship is new and I do not know you, your highness. We have been friends first and childhood sweethearts. I have decided to marry you before the death of her majesty. Time and conditions would not waver my heart. I will stay with you for a lifetime and I will make sure that you will be the next king even if I have to challenge the world for you." her daunting words and actions had always made his heart skip a beat.
Elio looked at Amber as if she was the only one in this room. Amber noticed that heated gaze and blushed. She knew he was facing challenges. He could have made a few more contacts and planned to take more consorts.
But even when his majesty suggests, Elio always refuses. Did she not know it was only for her. How could she blame such a loyal man?
If his majesty did not have a mistress, how could he have faced so many challenges? Elio understood that did not want challenges for his future kids. He was the best man in the whole world. Edward was just a rotten seed.
"Elio! How about we go for a walk in the garden too." his expression changed at once. He knew that she was sacrificing this loving moment to keep an eye on Edward. He hesitated but she only smiled and squeezed his hand. "Perhaps we can find a secluded corner and kiss each other."
"....." his eyes widened and his whole face dripped blood at once. Amber wanted to laugh out loud. It had been a long time since she was teasing this man. They would kiss sooner or later. But teasing him with it feels so relishing. Perhaps, it would not be that bad to try it today.
He noticed her cheeks getting redder and his heart stirred. He smiled and left with Amber.
