"You seem sick." Nora closed the book she was reading when she saw Max returning to his office. "Why don’t you take a break. I am sure there are many other doctors. Alric just enjoys exhausting you." Max walked to his office desk and sat there.
He took a deep breath collecting his thoughts. Nora looked worried.
"You should rest, I will come later." She stood up and collected her books when he turned to look at her.
"You are here for your friend?" Nora looked guilty suddenly. The simple question left her dumbfounded.
"You are my friend too, max." though she had forgotten to save him completely. But she had decided. Once Chris would be sent to jail, she would find a girl for him no matter what.
Max smiled, looking amused.
"That was not a complaint, nora. You do not need to be guilty." he waved his hand toward the chair and with a sigh, she sat again.
"I will not lie to you, Nora. she is in a bad condition." Nora nodded. She has expected this. "Now only she was beaten and burnt with cigarettes, we have found multiple men semen in her body. It is a miracle that she and her child are still alive."
"..." Nora froze on her seat. The hand holding the books turned white and her eyes widened. Her breathing was labored suddenly. No matter how much she had suffered, Chris never invited another man to share her. She could not even fathom what Nat had suffered.
