Chapter 406: Spies
Aiden held the phone with an ashen look on his face. His eyes widened with shock and he held the phone tightly until his fingers were numb.
"Sir! Our godown had suffered a raid. Somehow they knew that we had imported goods without paying custom duty. The charges of smuggling are attached with many other charges. The manager did not know how to respond to them and ran away. We are in a big mess." Chris, who was sipping his tea and reading the suggestion given by Nora today, paused.
While the whole office was already empty, he did not leave. For some reason, he did not want to leave the office even when Nora had left.
He instinctively watched the time. It was too late. Most of the time, they only raid at this time if they have received an end moment tip.
He stood up with force. The file tore and fell on the ground at once. The air in the room shifted and Aiden was afraid to even breathe.
"Is it the spy? I thought she was shot and would not wake up for years!" That was the only reason, he was slowly transferring the goods. He was afraid that if he would transfer all the goods at once, they would grow suspicions around them.
"I do not know the boss, I will investigate the matter. But for now, you must go there?" Aiden pleaded only to get a scoff in return,
"And then? End up in that so-called jail and pay a fine! You are a fool, Aiden. You have not learnt anything in so many years!" the man scoffed with disdain leaving Aiden dumbfounded.,
