Chapter 365: What He Likes!
"It tastes wonderful." she whispered softly. Nora turned to look at Alric and felt mesmerized again. Maybe because of the dim light, his eyebrows looked warm, and there was a vague smile on his lips.
"How did you know that I liked red beans?" even though he had forgotten that. His mother used to make red bean soup and rice. It had been so long ago.
"I did not know." Nora hesitated. She could not tell him that it was from a long time ago. Max had told him about Alric’s obsession with red beans when they were already married. The words in passing came to her mind when he was choosing the drinks.
After taking another sip of her tea, she continued walking forward in the same direction like they had been before. Alric noticed her red face and the smile widened.
She must have noticed it somewhere. It meant that she cared! Suddenly the drink felt much better in his hands. He held the cup with one hand and wrapped the other around her arm as they walked.
"What else would you like to eat?" It was midnight. Most of the people on the pedestrian street had left, while they were still there, walking slowly. Nora was not sure if they could eat after the milk tea?
She was still confused when her eyes fell on a shop about to close.
"There is a famous shop here selling burgers, you should try one. And this time I will buy it for you." Before Alric could refuse, Nora ran to buy two burgers for each of them, returning the empty cup in his hands.
Alric watched the empty cups. Two men following him from a distance were equally stunned. It was hard to digest that their boss stood in the line to buy tea. And now he was tasked to throw garbage?
