Return Of The Heiress For Revenge

Chapter 322: Turn The Tables

Xander took out some papers and threw them harshly on the table. It was clear that he was drunk and agitated. He wanted to win desperately and his actions were out of the line.

The manager standing behind frowned. He had only been nice because he had recognized Alric. This was not the man he could anger on their first visit. But it did not mean that he was going to stay put with this young girl.

"Sir, the madam is.." Alric titled his head and for a second the manager could not breath.

His eyes were so cold and dark as if they were sucking all the light around him.

"She is only trying to help her new partner. I’m sure the manager would not find an issue in that." the man hesitated. There was no fixed rule that they could not sign dealings with each other. Often customers lend money from each other or from the gambling house. Both were allowed.

But this young woman was minor. The manager was sure she did not have the power to sign a contract. What did Alric want? Could he not see such a simple thing?

"Hmm, I think this would do." Nora smiled brightly and placed the shared papers in her lap. The man near her had noticed it and scoffed.

"Though the Dawn ltd holds a good reputation. Its share is not valued this much. You are paying too high madam." but Nora did not care. Since she was not going to lose a single coin here.

"Aah! Then two million would be enough." The man wanted to refuse but when he noticed Xander glaring, he shut his mouth and looked away.

Nora kept staring at him with her watery eyes when the man did not reply, making the atmosphere around them awkward. This girl! She could not read the environment at all. He had already said so much, yet she wanted him to spell everything. It was so frustrating.

"Forget it. Are we playing or not? If not, we can leave at once." The man stood up huffing and left.
