Chapter 299: Facing Her Fears
"You are going out again?" Sophia raised a brow as she watched Nora dressed in a beautiful black dress. She regretted buying such dresses for her even if it was just for pretense.
"Yes, aunt. I have a date with Victor. But before that I am going to buy books for the university entrance exam. We need to return to school in a week and.."
"You are not going to give a university exam." Sohpia cut Nora in a cold voice. "Your uncle and I have decided it is time for you to join the business since this is the last wish of your father." Nora paused in her tracks. They were inviting her to join the business?
"Your uncle has decided to join the company as a secretary. You will get the chance to learn a lot through that position. If you perform well, you will be appointed as his assistant and then as a manager or the director of the finance department. Everything depends on your performance, Nora." Sophia patted the space beside her.
With a reluctant look, Nora walked toward her aunt and sat beside her.
"Nora, you have already proven your worth by clearing the prestigious competition. Your uncle is giving you a golden chance, do not let it go. Do you understand? As far as your graduation, you can always apply for it after gaining some experience?" she patted Nora’s shoulders with a warm smile. Nora smiled back softly, giving a submissive impression.
"What about Penny? Is she going to give up on her studies too?" Sophia’s face went dark instantly.
"Are you comparing yourself with Penny?" Sohpia hissed. "Penny had me and her father, Nora! While you.. Forget it! I know you do not appreciate my kindness. I will tell your uncle that you refused. Go ahead and buy those books." Wrapping her hands around her chest Sophia pointed at the door with her chin. But her eyes were warning Nora. take a step out, and you would regret it all your life.
"I didn’t mean it that way, aunt. I am happy to join the company. As you said, I can always start my graduation later." Sophia’s lips curled into a smirk as she nodded. Her body is relaxing with relief. As long as Nora could not continue her studies! And if she be Benard’s secretary, he would win her over sooner or later.
