Chapter 276: A Partner
The atmosphere in the room was heavy when Penny returned with her mother.
Sophia stared at her husband, who slightly shook his head making her grit her teeth.
She politely nodded as she sat on her seat.
"Amelia.." she started, "Kane had grown up into a fine gentleman. He is nineteen yet he has achieved so much. I am sure after entering the university, there would be a long line of suitors for him." Amelia’s hands paused as she looked at the smiling woman. Her eyes fell on Penny again.
But she knew his son best. If he had set his heart that he did not want to marry Penny. Then he could not be forced. A professional smile appeared on her lips too.
"Ah! Yes. My son is still in the learning stage. I am in no hurry to choose a partner for him. I will let him choose one when he takes over my husband’s company. I am sure you have the same plans for your daughter. She is already this ambitious. I can see a bright future ahead." Sophia had a hard time maintaining the smile on her face. She had already said it so clearly, yet Amelia played ignorant.
The woman was putting on airs because of Nora. if not for Nora, Amelia would be begging for Penny’s hands.
Ha! Her daughter did not lack suitors. She ignored Amelia as she nodded and continued with the dinner. The members noticed the change in mood. They have already congratulated Nora and discussed the deal with her too.
"It is too late for me, it was nice meeting you kids, but I must leave now." a member stood up and greeted everyone before leaving.
