"Dad.."
"Did you irk Alric? God damn it! Even irking is a small word. Tell me what the hell did you do?" The man raged in a loud voice as she heard something falling on the ground after that. Amyra shivered at her place.
"I.. i.. What happened?" she asked in a shivering voice only to get a cold laugh in reply.
"What happened? What happened? Ha! Are you seriously asking me that? You tell me what did you do?" he barked in a loud voice and slammed on the table with force. Amyra closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"Father, I did nothing. I am only following Alric because of this marriage.."
"Marriage! Good lord! Have you lost your mind? I do not know what trick you have played this time. But Alric had canceled our contract. Not only that, he is not even offering the compensation to break it, pinning all the blame on us." he gritted his teeth so hard that a few might fall with the force.
Amyra could hear his rage from a distance and her own eyes widened.
"How could this be? Can we not sue him? You do not need to care about our marriage if you want to take harsh actions, father. I.." her father laughed. He laughed hard, full of mockery and insults. Her grip on the phone tightness to the limit that her knuckles turned white.
"You are still thinking that he would marry you? Amyra, when will you wake up from your dream?" the man laughed viciously. She felt humiliated. She wanted to cut the call and threw the phone on the ground to get rid of that laughter.
