Chapter 231: You Are Mine
"Flight no 20341, departing for ..... Is about to leave. The passengers are requested to board the plane please." As soon as the announcement rang, Director Reid stood up and collected the students. Alric had been sitting with him all the time. He did not even spare a glance at Amyra as if he did not know her.
Yet when they boarded the flight, their seats were near each other in the business class. While the students were in the economy class. Nora closed her eyes and decided to sleep. She did not care about her seat or others.
Amyra who stood there till late to see disappointment on Nora’s face felt indignant again.
"Ha! She is such an actor." she mumbled as she returned to her seat. "No wonder you have hired her to keep an eye on Alex." Alric stiffened for a second but he did not respond.
"I was talking to my aunt yesterday, she was so relieved that I am accompanying you. She sounded worried about you." Amyra wrapped her hands around his arms despite the divider making it uncomfortable. But Alric pulled his arm away.
"Amyra..!"
"We had been together since playschool Alric. We have studied together and grown up as friends. Now our family wanted us to marry. I am successful, strong and have earned a name for myself. Yet, I am kind and support your family. What else do you want in a marriage? Have you not said that you don’t care who the girl is as long as your mother approves of her? I am approved by Aunt Ava. Why are you so cold to me then?" her eyes turned misty at once. Tears spilled as she sniffled.
A young and beautiful girl with all the wealth and success. Amyra was sure that she was perfect. Men line around to her to get her attention. But from the start, she had concentrated on this man. Yet! No matter how long she waited, he did not reply. As if her words had nothing to do with him.
"Alric! Are you behind that girl Nora?" She did not hide her disgust as she took her name. Alric finally narrowed his eyes and looked at her.
"You have lost your mind. She is just a child!" a child? Does a man look at a child like that? She did not expose Alric, but smiled brightly as if her worries had been dispersed.
Since he did not know his own feelings. She would not be a fool to expose them. She knew Alirc was not lying. He never lies. Either he speaks the truth bluntly or he keeps his silence.
"Then.. Do you have anyone else in your life now?" as long as she did not have a threat, she could wait for a few more months or even a year. But the picture she had received from paparazzi was making a hole in her pocket.
