Gasps filled the room. The teachers looked at Nora with stunned gazes. Even the principal lost his calm and coughed a bit.
His face went red. Megan hid her smirk beneath her cough too. But her eyes twinkled with joy. She knew that asking Penny at the last moment for help was the best decision.
"What nonsense are you spouting? Do you have no shame?" Miss Megan scolded the man with a look of disgust but the man only laughed.
"I wanted to leave silently with her. But you all wanted me to prove it. Now that I have proven it, you are still accusing me. What do you want from me? Hmm?" he looked helpless as he raised his hand in the air, surrendering but his question left everyone speechless.
Nora gulped. Venom burnt her chest. Her hands tied to reach for her pin. She was sure she could kill the man with just an attack from her pin.
"I have changed my clothes in front of many roommates. Anyone can tell you about that. It is better that we talk about that fateful night. You said that you have come to take me. Did you have your vehicle or did you hire a cab?" Nora took a deep breath and controlled her anger.
She could not lose her temper now, or she would fall in their trap.
"A taxi Nora? I am not that rich. Of course, we have walked." he smiled gently, knowing too well she would ask the cab driver if he chose a taxi. And she knew that a man like him did not have a vehicle.
"Then the motel you have taken me to must be nearby. What is the name of that motel?" Nora still maintained that smile.
